Aligning with FIU’s Panthers Protecting Panthers repopulation plan, and the oversite of the campus re-population task force, shopFIU has created a detailed re-opening plan. With the majority of FIU’s schedule offered either remotely or online, but understanding that the campus will be open to students, faculty and staff living, studying and working on campus, we have created this page to serve as a resource for all retail, dining and services offered both in person and remotely.  The information contained in this website will detail what services are open to students and how to take advantage of all the great retail, dining and services offered at FIU both in person and remotely.

Panther Dining is dedicated to the safety of the campus community, guests and associates. In this time of social distancing, they have adapted thier procedures to include associate wellness checks. We have also increased the frequency of sanitization procedures, introduced new PPE and implemented social distancing signage.

Dining at the locations

FIU dining locations will now have seating available indoors at 50% capacity. Masks must be worn at all times until seated. Please pay attention to table signage for seating available and for clean and sanitized tables. There is available ​outdoor seating designated for dining around campus ​please follow all Panthers Protecting Panthers signage for available outdoor seating. Remember face coverings must be worn at all times while on campus.

Mobile Ordering via Grubhub

The best way to social distance is by ordering food via the Grubhub app from our campus locations. You can order ahead and pick up from the locations when the items are ready.

Retail on campus

Barnes & Noble at MMC is open in-person for Spring 2021. Barnes & Noble at MMC and BBC will continue to service online orders and offer free shipping on all orders over $75. Barnes & Noble at MMC is also offering curbside pickup on online orders.

Curbside Pickup

Barnes & Noble at MMC is offering curbside pickup on online orders. Curbside pickup spots are located in the 3rd floor of the Gold garage (PG1).

How to use Curbside Pickup at Barnes & Noble at MMC:

  1. Select “Pickup Curbside” at Checkout and then include the name of the pick-up person.
  2. Once the order is ready the customer will receive a confirmation that your order is ready for pickup.
  3. Once you arrive, park in one of the designated curbside pickup spot in the 3rd floor of the Gold Garage (PG1) and call the store (305-348-9875) or check-in through the Barnes & Noble College app and a Barnes & Noble associate will bring your order.

Cafe, La Ventanita & RechargeU are open!

Barnes & Noble Cafe and La Ventanita at Barness & Noble at MMC ae open and ready to satisfy your need for cafecito when you visit the campus. RechargeU is also open for in-person transactions for anyone looking for quick grab-and-go items.

Need PPE while on campus?

Face coverings must be worn at all times while on campus. FIU will be providing every panther with a complimentary face covering. To get your face covering click here. Additional PPE is offered for sale around campus. See below for more details.

Barnes & Noble at FIU
Barnes & Noble at FIU is offering a variety of face masks that allow you to show your panther pride while protecting yourself and those around you. The face masks are available for purchase at the Barnes & Noble at MMC or online at fiu.bncollege.com.

 

Pharmabox
The Parmabox locations on campus have been supplied with PPE such as face mask, hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes. Be sure to use promo code PPE2020 when purchasing PPE from any of our Parmabox locations to receive a discount.
Right Choice Vending
Our partner Right Choice Vending, who supplies FIU will all snack vending machines, has provided FIU, free of charge, all the student face covering vending machines on campus. Click here to see a map of face covering vending locations.

Lost or forgot your free FIU face covering?  Look to select snack vending machines for inexpensive available PPE located just under your favorite candy bar or bag of chips.

What’s open on campus?

Spring 2021 will look different than what you are used to seeing during the Spring semester at FIU. Due to the ​COVID-19 pandemic the majority ​of university operations are happening remote​ly in an effort to continue supporting social distancing, and limit gatherings. Campuses are open to students, faculty and staff who ​need to access study or work material, to a limited number of residents approved to stay in student housing and to those who are providing basic services to them. To find out what’s open, click here.

Do I have to wear a mask at shopFIU locations?
Face coverings are required to be worn on campus at all times. Please visit FIU’s Panthers Protecting Panthers website for all policies and procedures required when coming to campus to keep our community safe.  For information on where to buy a face covering on campus, click here.
Will more dining locations open throughout the Spring semester?
We will continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments to our dining locations and schedules as needed.
How can I use my meal plan?
Meals are redeemed at 8th Street Campus kitchen or Roary’s Bay Cafe. Dining Dollars can be used at any Panther Dining locations.  ​Click here for more information on services available from Panther Dining.
Can I still use GrubHub to order food?
Yes, in fact the best way to social distance while dining is by ordering food via the Grubhub app from our campus locations. You can order ahead and pick up from the locations when the items are ready.

 
Can I purchase books or course materials online?

Yes. Visit Barnes and Noble at FIU to purchase your course materials today.  Shipping is FREE on all online orders over $75. Click here to get started!

Where can I use my Book Advance funds?
Book Advance funds can be used to purchase books and course materials at Barnes and Noble at  FIU, FIU Panther TECH, and Ricoh at FIU. Online purchases can be made at fiu.bncollege.com. 

 

All other campus locations, including vending machines and Pharmabox, accept FIU cash.

Is FIU One Card office open?
The FIU One Card office at MMC is open Monday – Friday from 9:00am – 5:00pm and at BBC Monday – Thursday from 10:00am – 4:00pm and Friday from 10:00am – 2:00pm.

Our staff will walk you through what is needed to obtain a new or duplicate ID card. Specific instructions on how to pick up your card will be explained by our staff. You can contact us at 305-348-2273 or e-mail us at onecard@fiu.edu.

FIU One Card Operations

The FIU One Card office is open for Spring 2021, reconfigured with all the Panthers Protecting Panthers protocol in place for the safety of the FIU community.  If you need to visit the office, please keep in mind that due to the size of the office, there is a capacity limit so please make sure to limit your visits to only when necessary.

If you are a new student and have not yet uploaded your photo for your FIU One Card, please visit your MyFIU page and use the link provided in your tasks (To Do’s) list. Once you successfully upload your picture, you may pick up your FIU One Card during office hours at BBC or MMC.

If you are in need of a replacement FIU One Card, please visit the One Card office. Hours of operation for both MMC and BBC offices are listed here.

Having a valid One Card will be key to having access to campus this spring, as some buildings will be locked and only accessible by swiping the One Card.

FIU Cash

Your FIU Cash account is safe while you take your classes remotely.  FIU cash does not expire as long as you are an active student or have been one within the past 12 months.

  • You can use your FIU Cash online at Barnes and Noble by clicking here.

Book Advance

Your Book Advance is loaded on to your FIU One Card. These fund can be used to purchase books, technology, supplies, and print at the beginning of the semester. Your Book Advance funds can be used to purchase course materials online at fiu.bncollege.com. 

How to order online:
  1. Visit fiu.bncollege.com and select the course materail you wish to purchase
  2. Proceed to checkout and fill out your personal information (Name, Address, Email & Distribution method)
  3. Selesct payment metohd Book Advance / FIU Cash. Imput your 7-digit Panther ID number in the “card number” field to use your Book Advance funds as payment.
  4. Review your order and submit
